Ireland 36-14 Scotland
Jimmy O'Brien - the only unused player in Ireland's World Cup squad - could be called into quarter-final action against the All Blacks due to a worrying list of injuries for wingers. Mack Hansen passed a HIA in Saturday night's final pool win over Scotland only to have to withdraw a minute later with a calf problem, then James Lowe suffered an eye injury and also had to come off at the Stade de France.
"It's one of those things that at a push Earlsy could have been involved this weekend, and it was probably one of those we felt wasn't the right time to risk him," said the coach. "But we were really pleased it was flagged when it was and we had the opportunity to make the call early enough. Fingers crossed he's fully fit for this week. "Robbie did some running at the captain's run, so we probably understand a little more about their injuries.
