EXCLUSIVE - Figures provided by the HSE to Sinn Féin's health spokesman David Cullinane show that nursing staff were subjected to more assaults than other healthcare professionals
Nearly 3,000 frontline healthcare workers were assaulted in the first half of this year, stark new figures have revealed.
“Other staff”, whose positions were not confirmed, reported 925 assaults so far this year, up from 835 on the same period last year. “The figures are concerning if you look back over a five-year time period and they do seem to be increasing again,” he said.
