The Irish Mirror has learned of an alleged incident that saw a garda being kicked in the face a number of times and another officer being bitten in Carlingford, Co Louth on Monday night.
Two gardai have been left badly injured after yet another alleged horror attack on officers this week.
Two men have subsequently been arrested and charged in connection with the incident before a sitting of Trim District Court. "Two men were arrested in relation to this incident: one aged in his 40s and another aged in his late teens. Both have since been charged and appeared before a sitting of Trim District Court earlier this morning.
An officer, who was responding to a call on Berkeley Street in the Mountjoy area in Dublin, was allegedly set upon and subjected to a vicious assault at around 11:15am on Monday morning. “I strongly condemn the attack against a man going about his work trying to help a member of the public that has resulted in him now being off work for a period of time,” he told us.
