Former Wimbledon champion looking totally unrecognisable just three years after retirement
Once considered to be one of the most distinguishable sporting faces in the world, former Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova is now barely recognisable.
What followed was a storybook career where she won two French Open titles, as well as both the Australian and US Open, to go with Olympic gold in 2012. Off-court the star also racked in awards and accolades, with Maxim ranking the Russian star 'the hottest athlete in the world' for the fourth consecutive year in 2006, the very same year she posed in a bikini photoshoot spread in the Valentine's Day issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
In some recently posted snaps at the Monaco Grand Prix, the 36-year-old can be seen looking completely different from her tennis-playing days, having ditched her famous blonde look, now sporting a much darker hairdo.
