Former top Garda haunted by gruesome murder of Keane Mulready-Woods - 'He was just a child'
A former top garda has admitted he is haunted by the gruesome murder of teenager Keane Mulready-Woods.
He joined the force at the age of 20 in 1980 and received the Scott Medal twice for valour during the course of his 40-year career. Paul Crosby, 27, of Rathmullen Park in Drogheda and 49-year-old Gerard Cruise were jailed at the Special Criminal Court in February 2023 for facilitating his murder. “It does strike a chord with you when a child’s life is taken by people who are intent on committing murder and causing misery and promoting their own profiteering with drugs.”
An investigation Mangan said he is happy to have brought to a conclusion is the gruesome murder of Farah Swaleh Noor in 2005.Swaleh Noor’s body parts were discovered in Dublin’s Royal Canal, but his head, which was reportedly taken to a park in Tallaght, Dublin, has never been recovered. “I don’t believe they [remaining body parts] will ever be found because they were deposited in a very large field where houses have been built since.”
