Her co-star was the celebrant for the wedding in Sitges - she opens up for the first time
The actress, who plays the character of Melanie, tied the knot to photographer and videographer Patricio Cassinoni in Sitges last summer. This came after they made things official in a Dublin registry office the month beforehand.
Opening up about the wedding for the first time, Nyree told RSVP Live: "We got married in Spain in September last year."There were only about 30 odd people at it. We only wanted our nearest and dearest there."Spain seems to be the destination of choice for the Fair City cast. George McMahon, who plays Mondo, got married there in August 2019 and Ryan Andrews, who plays Seán Cassidy, will get hitched there this summer.
"It is such a joy that our paths have crossed at work. We are so invested in Fair City and we love the show. And we are doing it together."She said: "He is a videographer and photographer and there is a whole range of the type of work that he does. "Some of the things took all day to stage. It took forever and we did it every single day, so it really filled the time."
She said: "It is something you really want to get right. I know the research team has put a lot of effort into making sure the storyline is true to life in terms of what would be happening to the person if they had this condition."She is so professional to work with. She always looks out for the detail to best represent this and for how measured she needs to be. It was nice to tease that out and support her on it.
"There were times where things got quite moving, and Melanie was moved by Joan, who was this strong bull figure. She is somebody that Melanie looks up to and admires.
