Ellen Keane will be stepping away from the pool after this year.The Paralympian has found this year “incredibly tough in the pool”.View this post on Instagram“Yesterday I won silver at my last ever world championships,” she wrote alongside pictures of her at the competition.
“I found this year incredibly tough in the pool. I struggled with finding the joy in what I was doing, I had to manage an injury, I began to feel a bit hopeless and my times got slower every time I raced. Honestly I just felt so sad. “But gradually I began to smile again in the pool and I started to believe that maybe I was capable of getting my times back down.”
She went on to say: “I fought hard and I’m incredibly proud that I’m back smiling and loving what I’m doing.“I won silver, I swam my fastest time since Tokyo and second fastest time ever and I got a slot for Paris next year.“I’m ready and excited for the final season.”Related Stories
