The fire service received calls in the early morning with reports of smoke billowing from a derelict building on the North Circular Road
Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of a derelict building fire on a busy city road in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A total of six fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze while the busy road, which connects with the Phoenix Park entrance, was closed to facilitate the early morning "firefighting operations." Firefighters attached to Dublin Fire Brigade managed to get the fire under control by 5.30am on Thursday morning. They also reported that there were no injuries associated with the blaze that took hold in the derelict building.
Posting on Twitter at 7am, a spokesperson said: "The North Circular Road has reopened at Doyle's Corner following a fire in a derelict building Six fire engines attended the scene with no injuries reported."
