Drogheda United hope to convince the FAI to allow fans to attend their October 20 Premier Division clash with Shamrock Rovers.
Drogheda United will find out early next week if they are successful in appealing a ban on fans attending their October 20 visit to Shamrock Rovers.
“We have accepted that some sanction is warranted, but the magnitude of the ban is too severe, so we have asked for a suspended ban. After the linesman was struck, Drogheda officials pleaded with the travelling fans to stop throwing missiles onto the pitch. Drogheda have accepted smaller sanctions for the use of flares and for the delay in starting the match.
