McGuinness previously managed Donegal to an All-Ireland final and is back at the helm for 2024.
Jim McGuinness has completed his sensational return as Donegal Football manager after his appointment was confirmed on Monday night.
McGuinness's appointment was signed, sealed and delivered at a specially-convened meeting and will have Colm McFadden, Neil McGee and Luke Barrett as part of his backroom team. Confirming the news, Donegal GAA said: " "Donegal GAA is delighted to announce the appointment of Jim McGuinness as senior football team manager, following a meeting of Donegal County Committee."
McGuinness guided his county to only their second-ever All-Ireland Football title back in 2012 when they beat Mayo and was at the helm when they upset Dublin in the 2014 All-Ireland semi-finals. Since then, McGuinness has earned his UEFA Pro-Licence and has had spells with Celtic, Beijing Guoan and Charlotte Independence.
