Derry Girls fans rejoice as the writer of the comedy series, Lisa McGee, has just announced her brand new TV show!
And while we’re loving seeing the cast branch out and take over the world, we’re missing Lisa McGee’s signature wit.How to Get to Heaven From Belfast is Lisa’s latest project, which sees her move from her native Derry to Northern Ireland’s capital city! The eight-part series follows longtime friends Saoirse, Robyn and Dara, who are now in their late 30s.
The trio’s life is turned upside down when they receive an email telling them that an old classmate called Greta has passed away. The women used to be very close with Greta and there is some unfinished business to attend to. “The friends decide to attend Greta’s wake and discover all may not be quite as it seems. They soon find themselves embroiled in a dark and twisted mystery. It’s absolutely terrifying. But it’s also… utterly thrilling,” the synopsis reads.
Lisa shared the news on Twitter joking: “There is a character from Derry in it before I get banned from the old hometown.”
