The RTE presenter was diagnosed with the condition after noticing a suspicious looking spot on his eyebrow. Daithi was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer which reports 13,000 new cases in Ireland every year. He told The Sunday Times: "In fact, it had been there a long time, but had grown over the last year or two. "I dropped two stone for the Rose of Tralee last year and it is usually around January that I begin stopping for diesel and enjoying and eating nice foods," Daithi told RSVP Live.
