'There are still millions that go hungry every night - that is sickening, it disgusts me, it is unnecessary and it is stupid and it can stop'
Bob Geldof took aim at Putin, Trump and the ‘nonsense’ giant companies fed delegates at the One Young World Belfast summit during discussions about global food insecurity yesterday [TUE].
He told them: “Belfast is a city of transformation and resilience - a poignant reminder of what can be achieved when determination meets hope. “Heaney says, history says, ‘don’t hope on this side of the grave’. But then once in a lifetime the longed for tidal wave of justice can rise up and hope and history rhyme.
“We need to gather and sit down and respect each other and work out exactly what we want... and how much of it can be generated by ourselves before being overwhelmed by technological, political and economic or natural events. “There are still millions that go hungry every night - that is sickening, it disgusts me, it is unnecessary and it is stupid and it can stop.Speaking about companies that presented to delegates earlier in the day, he added: “When I listen to some of these giant companies talking bollocks on this stage it makes me puke.
