According to sources, Tanya was good friends with the couple before Barbara's passing and has helped Scott raise awareness about dementia.“He looked after her [Barbara] until the very end. He really is a special man. Of course he wanted to find happiness again - and Tanya is a really lovely lady,” he told OK! Magazine.“I'm very, very lucky. It started as a nice friendship and developed into something more. We are very happy,” he said on ITV’s Lorraine.
Scott announced Barbara’s passing back in 2020 and remembered her “courage, dignity and generosity” as she dealt with her condition. “Her passing was from Alzheimer’s/ Dementia and Barbara eventually died peacefully and I spent the last seven days by her side.
