ARSENAL HAVE GAINED ground on Manchester City in the Premier League title race after a 4-0 victory at Bournemouth.
Goals by Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Ben White, and a first in Arsenal colours for Kai Havertz moved Arsenal to within a point of champions City, who fell 2-1 at Wolves.Saka opened the scoring for Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium just after the quarter-hour mark, pouncing on a rebound from a Gabriel Jesus header to nod home past Neto in the Bournemouth goal.
Odegaard doubled the Gunners’ advantage from the penalty spot before half-time before Havertz also converted from 12 yards to seal the deal 53 minutes. White’s goal in second-half stoppage time was the icing on the cake for Mikel Arteta’s men, who moved into second ahead of Liverpool’s meeting with Tottenham in the evening kick-off.
At Molineux, an early Ruben Dias own goal was cancelled out by Julien Alvarez just before the hour. Wolves, however, retook the lead through Hwang Hee-chan eight minutes later and weathered the storm to pick up an invaluable three points.
