Covid Ireland: 10 symptoms of new rising strain - from headache to altered sense of smell
A new strain of Covid-19 that has been found in the UK, Eris, is causing numbers of the virus to rise.
As it stands, the variant has been added to the World Health Organisation’s watch list, under the identification of EG.5.1 soon after the variant emerged in May. INMO head Phil Ní Sheaghdha also raised that the organisation is concerned there have not been measures put in place to improve the environment in which patients are cared for, which would prevent cross-infection.
