The show hosted its second country music special in a year last Friday night
Late Late Show bosses have said they are "delighted" new host Patrick Kielty "connects so well" with audiences – as 10,000 tuned out of the show's country music special.In March, former host Ryan Tubridy presented his last country music special, which was watched by an average of 558,000 people.
A spokesman for RTE said: "Friday night’s Late Late Country Music special was watched by an average audience of 548,000 and generated 53,000 streams across the weekend on RTÉ Player, an increase of 18 per cent on streams for the previous special in March. But Alan Tyler, Group Head of Entertainment, Music, and Comedy, RTÉ said: "We're delighted to see Patrick connect so well with the public, particularly with younger audiences through RTÉ Player and increased social media engagement.
As soon as the song was over, Nerney had the honour of introducing Kielty to the audience of 200 passionate music fans.
